Coal remains as a leading export commodity from the province of Bengkulu. On April 2011. Total export of coal accounts for 65.82 % of total exports (USD 9,752 million), followed by crumb rubber (34.18 % or equivalent to USD 5,064 million. Coal was exported to India, USA, Sierra Leone, Philiphine, and South Korea. The export of this province could have been higher in values if the seaport of Bengkulu, Pulau Baai, ran well. Since the last two years, this seaport experienced docking problems. Hence, fragile products like Crude Palm Oil, coffee, and cacao were shipped from other Indonesian seaports.
